We are excited to announce that registration for the Spring 2023 meeting of the MAA Seaway Section is now open!  The deadline for registration and for the group hotel rate is Friday, April 14, and for those that would like to attend the banquet or order lunch for the Saturday program, register by Friday, April 28.

We are excited to announce that registration for the Fall 2022 meeting of the MAA Seaway Section is now open! We strongly encourage you to register on our site, but for those that would like to send in a paper registration, that option is also available. The deadline for registration and for the group hotel rate is September 28th.

Each year, the Seaway Section selects a college or university teacher to be honored with the Clarence F. Stephens Teaching Award for Distinguished Teaching of Mathematics.

The Seaway Section is pleased to announce that Darren Narayan from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has been awarded the 2021 Clarence Stephens Award for Teaching Excellence.

We will discuss various aspects of the undergraduate course Abstract Algebra. The discussion will begin with three short presentations by experienced teachers of the courseL Thomas Sibley from St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota, Cheryl Miller from SUNY Potsdam, and Olympia Nicodemi from SUNY Geneseo. Then the floor will be open to conversing about multiple facets of the course.

We're hosting a two-hour workshop introducing PreTeXt, presented by Rob Beezer (University of Puget Sound) on Wednesday, August 18. We'll get started with PreTeXt, learn much more about the possibilities, and open the door to resources so that you can continue on your own.

A task force of mathematicians created in June 2020 by the AMS to "identify, engage, and address issues past and present related to equality, racial justice and inclusivity" in the mathematics community, has submitted a final report to the AMS governance. Read the full report and the recommendations given by the task force to rectify systemic inequalities in the mathematics community.

Come learn what you can do with a math, or math-adjacent, degree from our panelists with years of experience working with math in the business world! Come and hear them discuss their experiences, offer advice and answer your questions.
